I have landed on April 14th, but I have not received my PR card. I finally talked to CIC agent today.

I was told that there is an error on the record, so I have to fill out the application and amend the error. The agent sent me an e-mail which have a link to "Request to amend immigration record of landing or confirmation of permanent resident." (IMM1436).

When I looked through my CPR (IMM5688) , which all I have, and IMM1436, there is nothing wrong with Client ID, Family Name, Fist Name, Date of birth, place, and country, Citizen of, Sex, and Marital Status. I’m assuming that the error must be Date of original entry or Date permanent residence was granted. But I have no idea where to look on the CPR.

I will try to call CIC again, but if anyone could point me out where are “Date of original entry” and “Date permanent residence was granted”, it will be really appreciated.

And one thing came up to my mind. When I went to border at landing on April 1, the offer could not land me because the system was not updated and she was not be able to confirm my status. I was asked to sign and write a date before that happened, so the date beside my signature on CPR is April 1, 2012. The officer contacted to visa office and gave me a call next day, saying that she confirmed that the system is updated.

I went back to border on April 14 for second try. When I went to border, I explained the officer what happened last time, and he just processed my landing and wrote a date April 14, 2012. He did not ask me to re-write anything, so the date I wrote stayed as it is. Could this be an error that I was told?

Thank you,

Hello HZ,

Thanks for sharing your situation with us.

We can appreciate that this would be an extremely frustrating situation, especially the fact that a lot has to do with issues, like that of the system being down, that were out of your control.

Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to say if that is the error or not that they are referring to.

We hope that others who have had a similar experience can share their stories and suggestions with you.

Please do let us know if you get any response or information from CIC regarding what the issue was.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
