Sponsorship Interview Issue - Now what?

We submitted my application for sponsorship in January 2013 (my hubby is sponsoring me) in April I travelled back to my home country for ant 3mths cos my dad was really sick...February 2014
I was asked to come for my PR interview at Etobicoke, everything was going fine til the agent noticed my trip n started asking questions, she refused to make me a PR and said dey would contact us in 1wk, February 2015 (last mth) has made it 1yr n I'm yet to hear from them..
I keep calling d cic call center n hv gotten d same response for mths dat everything seems fine on my file n I will be contacted by d Etobicoke office soon cos dey hv my file...
Now I am confused about the long wait,don't know if d matter should be escalated and how to escalate it..
also I hv asked d call center agents severally if I was forbidden to travel n dey said no since I hv valid Canadian visa which expires 2018 n work permit..
Has anybody experienced dis too
