Hi!

Me and my partner arrived in canada last sept 17 2014 and we're in edmonton now. as the principal applicant, I received my pr card after 1 1/2 month since landing.

However, my partner's card did not arrive yet until now. we already called cic call center but all they can say is it's still on data verication.

Is the long data verification something we need to worry about?

Is it also normal to wait more than 3 mos for the PR Card to arrive?

Thank you for your replies:)

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us. We can appreciate that you and your partner would be concerned about this.

Unfortunately, it is difficult for us to say how long this process will take.

However, you can find some detailed information on what this process entails in the CIC ENF 27 Permanent Resident Card Operations Manual.

Here is an excerpt,

5.5. Correction procedures – Permanent resident documentation

One of the primary goals of the permanent resident card initiative is to enhance the quality and reliability of status identification documents issued by CIC. In order to achieve this goal, it is imperative that client information recorded on the PR card be accurate.

A data quality verification process is in place at the CPC-PRC to ensure that the information recorded on the Confirmation of Permanent Resident form [IMM 5292B] matches the FOSS record before a PR card is issued. In cases where a discrepancy is noted, steps must be taken to identify the correct information and make the appropriate amendment. It is important that amendments be processed in a systematic manner.

We hope that others can share their experiences and suggestions with you.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hello,

I have kind of the same issue. I had landed in Toronto last 8th of November 2014 along with my wife and two daughters; on 31st of December 2014 my wife and one of my daughters received their PR Cards; however, me and my other daughter haven't received it yet; I called the CIC and I was informed that both are under further verifications at special department; and that it might take no less than 2-3 months more from now.
My questions are:
1. What does further verification mean? and why does this happen?
2. Is there an issue behind our applications so it were sent for further verification? what are the reasons behind this verifications?
3. How often this happen?

Appreciate your help and feedback.

Regards,

Adham
