What are the Pre-requisites for the AFK Exam?

I have a BDS degree from Pakistan.
However, I have not completed my one year residency/house job.
I've also conducted a thorough search on the internet but haven't been able to determine the pre requisites for appearing in AFK exams.
Do I need the house job for appearing in AFK exams or does the college degree suffice?
I am a Permanent Resident in Canada.
