hello,
i got married in dec 2013.

my husband sponsored my PR.

he tortured me a lot physically, mentally and financially.

he came back with me to india after seven moths,by assuring me that he is going to stabilize the relationship.but it was his plan.

till that time i didnt recieved my PR CARD.

He abandoned me in india and he fled away to canada without informing anyone.

he took my all the essential documents related to imigration.

i had filed a case in india against him under dowry act, theft, domestic violence and maintainence.

my medical was done under the supervision of police.but no one knows his address.court is issuing summons against his old address.but he is not there.he is absconded.

i had applied my PR TRAVEL DOCUMENT by attaching a copy of my complaint under humanitarian ground now i m coming canada, got my travel document.

i want to fight my case in canada.

is goverment going to support me?he sponsored me ,

is that possible to get a maintainenece money from him.

its about one and a half year i am waiting for him.his parents told me do whatever you want to do he is not going to live with you, unless you give 25 lakh rupees dowry.

i am having no one in canada.

can i get the shelter and a survival job once i will get there.

is this possible that he can cancel my PR.

Hello Rsingh,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We can appreciate that you would be concerned about this situation.

In terms of receiving support, this Understanding a Family Class Sponsorship Breakdown guide states,

The Sponsorship Agreement is a legal document signed by you as a sponsor, the co-signer (if applicable) and your sponsored family member(s). As a sponsor, you commit to provide the basic requirements for daily living for your sponsored family member(s) included in the undertaking so that they will not need to apply for ‘social assistance’ (under Ontario Works or Ontario Disability Support Program). The sponsored family member(s) agrees to seek help from you as the sponsor if he/she is unable to provide for his/her own basic requirements.

In addition, the sponsored family member(s) consents to the release of information to you (the sponsor) concerning social assistance that they may apply for, or receive during the period of the undertaking.

and

A sponsorship breakdown occurs when you as a sponsor or co-signer (if applicable), refuse or are unable to provide some or all of the basic requirements for your sponsored family member(s) to live in Canada, during the period established by CIC in the Sponsorship Agreement, and your sponsored family member(s) starts to collect social assistance (under Ontario Works or ODSP).

During these periods, if your sponsored family member(s) receives social assistance, you are in sponsorship default and must repay the social assistance payments to the Ontario government. The sponsor and co-signer determined to be liable for the sponsorship debt is not allowed to sponsor other family members until they have repaid to the government all of the social assistance payments.

Once you arrive, we suggest that it is important that you contact the nearest Settlement Agency for some assistance with your situation.

In terms of where to stay, you may be able to find some helpful information in our Who can get emergency housing? article.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hi There,

Thanks for sharing your question and situation with us. We can appreciate that this is a stressful time for you.

From my understanding, you are looking to return to Ontario and have previously completed the landing process.

The short answer to your question is, you should bring (or have access to) enough funds to support you while you look for work and get settled.

You may find our articles in the Cost of Living in Ontario section helpful with different rent prices and expense examples.

You may find it helpful to read through our How do I bring money into Canada (proof of funds)? article. Here is an excerpt:

You can bring money into Canada in different forms. When you arrive, you must tell a border official if you are carrying more than C$10,000.
If you bring more than C$10,000 (or the equivalent in another currency) into Canada, you must declare the amount when you arrive.

You may wish to contact the Canadian Embassy, High Commission or

Consulate
to confrim this information and to ask more question about your personal situation.

The information provided above is not legal advice. If you want legal advice please consult a community legal clinic or a lawyer about your particular situation.

Some of our users may also be able to share their experience with you. I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
