I have a similar case and can not find information. In my Colombian passport, the american consulate renewed my American visa on September 2013 for 10 years.
I arrived to Canada as a refugee and now I am a permanent resident but I can not travel with the Colombian passport .
The Canadian government issued me a travel document and they retained my passport and the American visa attached.
The following is my question :
- What do I have to do to re-enter to the United States with the travel document that doesn't have the American visa ?
- Would they put the same visa that is still active or do have to make the application process again ?
i live in Montreal.
thank you

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your question with us.

As you may already know, the Settlement.Org website is mainly about settling in and living in Ontario. Therefore, you may not find a great deal of information regarding the United States.

You can find some helpful information in our What do I need to know about travelling to the United States? article.

You may also want to look at some information on the U.S Customs and Border Protection website in the Entering the U.S. - Documents required for Foreign Nationals section.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
