Hi,

I have 2 kids, one is eligible for school bus because he is in grade 2 and the other isn't, he is grade 6. We live 2 km away from the school. But it's difficult for me to drop one to the bus stop and take the other one to school and I can't send him alone because we are very new to Canada and I'm afraid he may get lost because he doesn't speak English.

How can I get a seat for my second child on the school bus?

Hello Star2014,

Thank you for sharing your situation with us.

You may find it helpful to read our Settlement.Org article What transportation do students use to get to school?

If you live in Vaughan, as your account suggests, and your older child attends a public school in York Region, you may want to contact Student Transportation Services of York Region and explain your situation to them and ask if they might make accommodations for you.

If you do not live in Vaughan, you may contact your child's school or school board to see if they may accommodate you.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
