Need help please,

I have entered my absense dates and recently I ordered history from CBSA ..

All dates on the residency calculator are ok in terms of absense reporting "FROM" and "TO" as they match the landing stamps in Canada as well stamps at the other country I visited ..

there is only one date entry at which I reported my depature date "FROM" Canada and at the "TO" entry I reported the depature date from the country I visited which is stamped also at my passport..

the arrival date I noticed on CBSA report was the day after that though ..

Should this be a problem?

I thought about it and asked someone who told me that it shouldn't be an issue because the reported period is for "ABSENSE" and the day on the CBSA as arrival is actually counts towards the residency requirements ..

Please let me know what do you think?

Note that I have already been scheduled to sit for the citizeship test so I assume that CIC have already checked with CBSA and found no issue, I guess !?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

You can confirm what is considered an absence and what is considered a day of physical presence in Canada in this CIC ENF 23 Loss of permanent resident status Operations Manual. Here is an excerpt,

6.4 Day

For the purpose of calculating the number of days to comply with the residency obligation in A28(2)(a), a day includes a full day or any part of a day that a permanent resident is physically present in Canada. Any part of a day spent in Canada, or otherwise in compliance with A28(2)(a), is to be counted as one full day for the purpose of calculating the 730 days in a five-year period.

We hope that others can share their comments and experiences with you.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
