Updating Immigration/Citizenship Status?

Hello,
I became a Canadian citizen last week and would like to know what government agencies I need to inform about the change in my citizenship status.
1) I have visited Service Canada and was told no update to my SIN record is required as there will be no change to my SIN as a result of becoming a Canadian citizen.
2) I visited ServiceOntario and was also told that no update was needed to my health card or driver's license. However, Form 0280-82E (Change of Information) states "If there is any change in my name, address, citizenship or immigration status I will inform the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care or its agent ServiceOntario within 30 days." so I am confused - is an update to my immigration/citizenship info required or not for my health card?
3) Do I have to inform the Canada Revenue Agency?
Thanks!

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
These are really good and interesting questions. It is likely many others have asked themselves or will ask themselves the same questions when in a similar situation.
Regarding your second question,
2) I visited ServiceOntario and was also told that no update was needed to my health card or driver's license.
We contacted a ServiceOntario representative and they also stated that you should go in person to inform them of this change. As you mentioned, you have already gone in person and tried to update this information and was told no update was needed.
You may want to contact the ServiceOntario INFOline at 1-866-532-3161 or in Toronto at 416-314-5518 to confirm your situation and state the steps you have already taken.
The ServiceOntario INFOline hours of operation are 8:30am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Regarding your third question,
3) Do I have to inform the Canada Revenue Agency?
We have contacted the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and they stated that it is not necessary to inform them of this change. However, the only change that you may want to make iss when completing your income tax return, you may want to indicate on your form that they can provide updated information to Elections Canada.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hi
I remember Service Ontario telling me to update my resident status when I went to renew my driving license. The lady at the counter asked me what is my status in Canada. I told her that I am a Citizen. And she said I should get my status updated. She asked me to come back later with proof of citizenship (Passport or Citizenship Certificate).
I have not done that yet but I think I should get that updated.
