Hi, I am an RN from the UK who has PR for Canada. I will be relocating to the Hamilton area of Ontario next year. I am currently in the process of registering with NNAS to become registered as a RPN/LPN. I didn't apply under the RN category as it seems impossible for UK trained nurses to become registered as an RN in Ontario without having to practically retrain. I'm hoping registering as a RPN will be much easier. Would like to hear from any UK trained RN's who are currently working in Ontario as an RPN. How did you find the process of registering to become a RPN, was there lots of further training involved?

Hello Cat,

Thank you for sharing your situation and questions with us.

It is great that you are looking into this type of information before arriving in Ontario.

It sounds like you have already done a great deal of research.

We hope that other UK trained RN's provide you with some information and suggestions.

You may also be able to find some helpful information on the HealthForceOntario Website in the Nurses section.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
