Receiving Ontario Works - Affect Application?

Hi there i was wondering if being on welfare will disrupt applying for Permanent Residency? Also how long does it take for an work permit application to be processed? I was already granted status as a Convention Refugee but this was sometime ago. However i do have a lawyer that is doing all necessary paperwork. But somethings are just not clear to me.

It is best that you speak to your lawyer regarding whether or not receiving Ontario Works will affect your application.
In terms of how long a work permit takes to be processed, you may want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly.
