I want to clarify a previous forum regarding this message title.

What is a PR category CR8? When an individual is granted their PR through refugee asylum, their PR is Category CR8. Most European Countries require that such a PR card holder to submit their Canadian certificate of identity when they apply for a visa (since a Canadian permanent resident is not illegible for the regular refugee travel document).

Why that? The EU see such a visa applicant as a potential asylum seeker in Europe. They want to record a Canadian TD so refusing asylum claim would be easy in case this visa candidate wants to stay in the EU through claiming refugee. without wasting resources on application processing, any EU refugee board would refuse a claim of a person coming from Canada. The country is on the safe countries-list.
