Hi,

I received a letter saying that the photograph provided by me on landing doesn't meet the specifications, so I need to take new photos and send them by mail to Nova Scotia - Case Processing Center.
The situation is that I'm outside Canada and I don't know for sure when I'm going in definite. My question is:

Is it possible to take this photos in my country and send them from outside Canada?
The letter also says that in the back of the photo must be written the name and the adress of the photography company who took the picture. What if these information are from another country?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question and situation with us.

From the additional information one of our legal researchers has found, there is no requirement that your photos be taken by a Canadian photographer unless this is expressly stated on the instructions from IRCC.

You may take the photo specifications to any commercial photographer and as long as they follow the instructions, your photos will be accepted.

You should send your photos to the address listed by IRCC. It is also recommended that you have someone contact the IRCC Call Centre and explain your specific situation for a more detailed response.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
