Hi

I am a permanent resident for 3 years now, and hold two passports.

The passport which I have used for the immigration process is about to expire in 2 month.

I would like to keep only my second passport.

Can I still travel outside of Canada?

Would I have any problems to re-enter Canada?

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

Passports are only valid for travel before the expiry date. This means that once a passport has expired, it is not possible to use it.

It is important to ensure that your current passport is valid before you book your tickets for travel and before you travel.

Additionally, it is also important to note that many countries require at least six months validity on a passport.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
