Hi,
I'm an international student and my boyfriend is going to pay a short visit to Canada this September.

My question is, since my boyfriend and I are both foreigners, can we get married in Ontario?

If we can, what official papers, other than valid passports and valid driver’s licences, should we bring from our home country?

Do we have to prepare Police Clearance Certificates or Single proof, etc.?
Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

You can find some detailed information in our Settlement.Org Who can get married in Ontario? and How do I get a marriage licence? articles.

Here is an excerpt,

Generally, you can show a current passport, a Record of Immigrant Landing or a Canadian citizenship certificate. You also need to bring photo identification that shows your current legal name and age.

You need to show documents for both people and they must be originals (no photocopies).

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
