Hello,

Thank you for sharing your question with us.

You can find some detailed information regarding change of address on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada website in the Change of Address section.

Here is an excerpt,

You may use this on-line service if:
  • your case is being processed in Canada;
  • your address is in Canada;
  • you are moving within three weeks;
  • you have not been requested to report your change of address in person to your local office.
And you:
  • sponsored a member of the family class;
  • applied for permanent residence from within or outside Canada;
  • applied for a permanent resident card (replacement or renewal);
  • applied for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship);
  • applied for Canadian citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian citizen;
  • applied for a citizenship certificate (proof of Canadian citizenship);
  • applied to renounce Canadian citizenship; or
  • applied to resume Canadian citizenship.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Dear Anna,

Thanks for above reply. However, I am here already PR but i am expecting my card to arrive.

Here in Pearson Airport, I have given my home address here in Canda while I landed. Today, once I see the address change section in CIC website, I found that MY home address has been changed as per I have given my Canada Address, however my mailing address still showing my earlier home country address which i have given during PR application.

Now i am worried, as where CIC will send my PR card? will they send in my current home address or in the mailing Address?
Do I need to change? Please reply me ASAP. Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Thank you for sharing your question with us.

To avoid confusion, I recommend that you contact IRCC directly to inform them of the change of address in case your PR card has already been sent to the older address. 1-888-242-2100 IRCC Call Centre line.

Also, depending on what your former address is, you may want to contact the person who now lives at your former address and ask them if your card has arrived.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hi Anna,

This question was closely related to my query so continuing the same thread.

I have been trying to contact CIC customer service on the given number during business hours but I have been kept on hold for 45 mins and long without been answered by the customer service agent on call.

Since I was unable to contact the customer service I have submitted the webforms stating the change of my address.

My question is, How can i track the status of my PR, since I am new in Canada and will be receiving my first card at my home address.

Appreciate your early response.

Thanks
Abhishek

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

We suggest that you may want to continue to try to contact the IRCC Call Centre.

It is possible to get through.

Some have reported quick service by calling right at 8 am when the lines open.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Dear Anna
I am awaiting my PR card. I landed on 23.1.2018 and submitted my photos again on 15.03.2018 as required by CIC. I am in India currently and have provided my friend's address in Canada for PR card delivery. However now there is a change in address of my friends residence and I need to inform this to CIC but unfortunately I am not able to do this online. Hence I have submitted a web form today to request the change. I also tried calling on the customer care line +1 888-242-2100 but it says 'call cannot be completed as dialed , please check the number and dial again'. Please advice.

Thank you

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We have had some of our users previously state that they have been able to contact IRCC from abroad by dialing 1 613 944 4000. Listen to the options to get to IRCC. Then you should be transferred to the IRCC Call Centre.

Please note though we are not sure if this number continues to work this way.

You may want to give it a try.

Please be aware that long distance charges will apply.

You may also want to read this previous Settlement.Org Can My Friend Courier My PR Card To Me Abroad? Discussion Thread for some information related to what you are interested in doing.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
