PR Card not working at ABC Kiosk

Hi,
the automated border clearance self-serve kiosks at the airport cannot read my PR Card (issued August 2016).
I always have to go to an immigration officer and keep hearing that "the card should work".
Other people experiencing this, too? Do I have to get a new card?
