Query Regarding Sponsorship Times

I am a Canadian citizen living overseas who married a non-Canadian in 2014, and officially sponsored her for permanent residency last year on August 25. Weeks later, we sent additional information regarding her place of residence (after the age of 18 or 19, I think) in November after we were notified. After that, we have received no information.
We've been checking our online account on cic.ca, and this is all it says:
- We received your application for permanent residence on August 25, 2016.
- We started processing your application on October 17, 2016.
- Medical results have been received.
We realize that we are coming up to the expected time required for our kind of application (12 months -- for applications outside Canada coming from China). However, the lack of notice is a cause of concern for us. Should we be getting any other notifications, or is this normal?
We're also concerned that we may have procedure for the November supplemental information wrong. Are we notified if the case is rejected?
Just wondering how everyone else's applications are coming along. Great forum here, appreciate any feedback you can provide.

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

According to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre, if you submitted your application through China, they are currently working on applications received before December 7, 2016.
They stated that all they can say definitively is that this means that your application should be completed before December 2017.
We hope that others who have gone through a similar experience can share their timelines and suggestions with you.
