I am a permanent resident who wants to settle in Ontario, I also stated in my application that I want to live in Ottawa. Is it right to live in Gatineau? As in, will that not be misrepresentation?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We can appreciate that you would be interested in getting this type of information before landing.

According to the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) Call Centre , you should be okay to land and live anywhere in Canada as a Permanent Resident.

You may want to confirm this information yourself. We have had some of our users previously state that they have been able to contact IRCC from abroad by dialing 1 613 944 4000. Listen to the options to get to IRCC. Then you should be transferred to the IRCC Call Centre.

Please note though that some have reported that it did not work for them or that it is no longer working.

You may want to give it a try.

Long distance charges will apply.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
