My boyfriend (who lives in the states) and i have been together for 5 years and have a baby boy together.

I know if we get married there is a 99% chance i will loose my income so i have a question.

If i go over to the states and get married will i loose my income when i come back to canada?

And also while the application i have to send in is getting processed and my boyfriend is here (not working till he gets his work permit) will i loose my income because he's here?

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We can appreciate that you would be interested in this type of information.

It is best that you speak to your ODSP Caseworker for information regarding your eligibility to re-apply for ODSP once you return.

If you are unsure how to contact an ODSP Caseworker, you can find some information on the Ministry of Community and Social Services website in the Ontario Social Assistance Office Finder section.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
