Hi,
I'm permanent resident and I live in Gatineau near Ottawa.
I would like to know if I can have access to the English course in Ottawa? I can drive a car from my home to Ottawa?.

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
If you are referring to taking a free or government funded English Course, generally for free language training programs, there are some eligibility requirements.
These eligibility requirements may include living in the area where the agency/organization provides services. For example, you may be asked to have proof of residency in Ontario (e.g. bill, bank statement or government document showing your address in Ontario).
Additionally, in many cases if in the past you have already participated in a government funded French as a Second Language or FSL program, you may not be eligible to participate in a government funded ESL program.
You may want to contact the organizations providing the English courses that you are interested in directly to find out what their eligibility criteria is.
You can find some information regarding which organizations are providing what type of service by using our Service Near Me tool.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
