Apply OWP after submitting PR application

Hello,
I was international student in Canada, and I got PGWP after I graduate school. Currently, I'm working and I met my husband (Canadian).
We just sent PR application to CPC centre without OWP request form because my visa will be expired on September 1st.
Before I sent our package, I checked CIC website, and it said I can submit the OWP request through online or paper close to expiry date of my PGWP.
However, I just want to make it sure if I can submit my OWP application through online or not.
As far as I understand, I can submit the OWP after I get AOR from the CIC.
If I put the same UCI number on my OWP application form, do they know my PR package is in progress?
