We suggest that you may want to contact the nearest Community Legal Clinic for some assistance with Ontario Works. StepstoJustice.ca has compiled a list of free to low-cost legal services with a specialty in Ontario Works.
There are different eligibility requirements for different financial assistance programs, you may find helpful information in the articles Can I get financial assistance in an emergency? and What financial assistance is available for childcare? It may also be helpful to connect with a settlement agency for help in this situation. An employment counsellor at a settlement agency can help you with the job search help you find financial assistance options. If you dial 211 on a phone, you could speak to an Information and Referral Specialist who will refer you to some supports and resources in your area.
