Good day, I'm in the process of gatherimg information for PR for my family. However, I would like clarifiaction on something. Once one receive PR do they need to be present immediately for three consective months?

Dear Moderator
First of all, I would like to express my deepest gratitude for providing such a helpful website. My question is that, I have never been to Canada before, and I want to get a permanent residency, as far as I'm concerned we are obliged to stay there minimum 3 or 5 years then we can apply for permanent residency. How can I get there? What forms should I fill? How can I apply for a temporary residency?
