Hi everyone,
I and my partner landed in Canada end of April, '23 as skilled workers express entry immigrants. We received our COPR, but couldn't confirm our pr status and can't check our PR application status, and don't know whether there was a mistake somewhere in the process or not.
Given that
- we don't have yet access to the pr portal, and on the website it says "If you’re confirming your status as a permanent resident, when it’s time to do so we will: _create an account for you and, _email you your username and temporary password" and we didn't receive any email with username/password (it's been 3 weeks since we landed!) - we called to IRCC, and asked them to change our address in the application, i.e. information about our PR application MAY exist in some form in the system - no one photographed us during landing and we didn't send any photos for PR because we don't know where to send it
we assume that we need to wait for an email with a password, then we will log in to the portal and load our PR photos there? Maybe you know the approximate timelines for receiving these emails? Does the whole process looks right, didn't we miss anything, e.g. maybe we do need to create an account on the PR portal ourselves and start the application for PR? The last bit is the most confusing because we didn't apply for PR ourselves, no one asked us to do so (e.g. border officers), but maybe it is what we have missed and need to actually create an account a start an application ourselves (because there is another part in the PR portal guidelines that says "You should only create a new account if you’re: starting a new permanent residence application" :D )
