Should I Appeal or Relinquish my PR Status?

I have a quick question of my situation. Living in Canada since 2004, got PR status 2006. Then in 2009 I lost my job and could not find anything locally, so I evenly found something in the US.

My Family also on PR status stayed in Canada and I worked in the US and traveled back to Canada monthly most of the time. I started getting sent to secondary processing to check how much time I am out of Canada after several years.

Then finally on this trip they told me I have two options, they remove me or I should voluntarily relinquish my status here. Very hard choices. The officer told me that relinquishing is better since its easier for me to visit in the future.

They gave me an appeals form which I am about to submit on humanitarian grounds since I take full care of my family and have been coming here as often as possible even though I am outside the 730 day window.

Incidentally, good or bad timing, I just got a job offer in Canada the same time the officer was pushing this process.

What is the best way to go about this? Is the appeals process the best way to withdraw the voluntary relinquishing?

I eventually spoke to CIC and the first step is to withdraw the relinquishment by sending a fax requesting such to CBSA and CIC local office. Of course they can decide to issue removal order once I do the withdrawal but lets see how that goes. There are no forms available to do the withdrawal process.

If they issue removal order then I can appeal and present whatever evidence to drop the removal process
