I have a question, can i get ODSP while living abroad because of my wife and a child; as my wife is not a citizen nor a resident, i have yet to apply for her sponsorship; my son is 1 1/2 years old and he is citizen. My situation is that, i have no place to keep my family with in my native country, she needs me while i am totally dependent on ODSP, is it posible i can get ODSP while i live with my family in my native country till she gets her visa for sponsorship? There is no one who can keep her.. (even worst codition she is living in). Note: my wife and my child is totally dependent on me. Any one who can help to guide me..

I had a meeting with a person from TNO, a settlement agency, that person said that I can have the ODSP in my circumstances but the ODSP worker said No.. though the TNO person said Yes Yes Yes, three times on my enquiring the situation.. but he said he cant help me directly I should convince him.. which I did try but failed.. anyways as last resort I am going for an MP office.. lets see if I can have a positive replay...in the mean time if anyone can guide me..

It doesn't matter if a Settlement agency person said something.. but in the ODSP conditions it states.. something.. in a workers hand its a 3 months and in manager hands its like for life.. if u go and read the Term "depends on the Circumstances" .. I don't get it.. what's the definition to circumstances.. and who would decide on that strange.. its like, who ever they chose to give ODSP overseas, seems to me discrimination is happeneing

Not much to add to what Anna wrote. If you don't live in Ontario, you won't get ODSP. Three "yes" from a person from TNO won't override the Ontario Disability Support Program Act which clearly states:
Eligibility for income support

5. (1) No person is eligible for income support unless,

(a) [...]

(b) the person is resident in Ontario;

Just file the tax? or after filling the tax and then get the notice of assessment? they both are different, can u please elaborate on this?

For all practical purposes just get a Ontario Driver's License , get a bank statement or phone bill or utility bill with your name on it mailed to your Ontario address , file your taxes in Ontario , get a rental , lease or mortgage contract in Ontario and you will be considered to be an Ontario resident for job purpose .
