Hi,

I have been in Canada for three years but my PR has expired last year. I don't want to renew it and wish to sponsor my spouse.

Is it possible for someone who has the landing paper to sponsor a spouse even if the PR has expired.

In other words,
is it required to renew the PR card before being able to sponsor a spouse?
