Sending PR card for Renewal from Outside of Canada

Hi all,

I have two questions about my PR card.

We landed last year and lived in Canada for more than six and half months and than return back in emergency for settlement of some domestic issues. We received PR cards for all of my family, all PR Cards were found OK except mine with one character spelling mistake (which is a printing mistake, as don't have any mistake on landing document), I figured it out during last month of our stay and communicated with CIC office call center and they admit that mistake on PR card happens during printing and Database has correct spelling of my name, So i applied for issuance of new card. At that time CIC call center person asked me to carry my PR card with me as they don't need it.

On PR renewal/re-issuance Application, I gave them one of our relative's permanent address. Now, my relative got one letter from CIC in which CIC office is asking me to return them my old PR card so that they can issue me a new one. my questions are;

Question-1: Is it safe and possible for me to send my PR card on CIC address using Registered mail (FedEx or similar service) from outside of Canada to CIC Office in Sydney?

Question-2: Will this be possible for my relative to send me back my new PR card after issuance from CIC (As i mentioned relative's permanent address on application form) via Registered mail (FedEx or similar service) from Canada to my country? Or I need to apply for Travel document from local embassy for my return? As we will have to return back with in few months depending after finalizing my old country's domestic issues.

Thanks in advance for your precious time and consideration for answering my question.
