Hello all!

I'm new to this forum as I have only recently decided that pursuing a PhD is something of interest to me.

For the past 6 years I have been dead set on becoming a lawyer by attending a Canadian law school.

I should mention that I live in Canada and am 20 years old.

However, recently I have become very interest in the prospect of obtaining a PhD in the psychological aspects of education.

Learning about psychology and education are my two favourite things so, naturally, when I found out they were offered together in PhD programs I almost jumped out of my shoes.

The more I really think about it the more I realize that I don't really want to be a lawyer that badly at all, its always just been a career that made sense, seemed financially wise and would be somewhat prestigious (potentially).

Truly, teaching at the university level (classes concerning psychology and education) and doing research in this field would be an absolute dream come true and a career that actually meant something to me! I am doing quite well so far in my undergrad degree (going into third year) and I think by the end of it my GPA will be about 3.9/4.0. it would be higher but I had a few bad classes in first year haha! I was told that upon completion of my undergrad degree I will need to do a masters in the psychological aspects of education and complete a thesis during this masters.....

my question is...then what?

I mean I know I apply but what will be some things that would really help me get into a good PhD program here in Canada?

This question probably seems silly but I really don't know much about this stuff yet :/.
