Topic: In Canada Sponsorship - Work Permit Query

 I have applied recently for permanent residency via common law route. I am currently working but my permit will expire in May 2017. What can I do to extend the work permit if residency has not come through by then? I have looked on various immigration websites but cannot find a solution. Many thanks
