Broken Lease due to assault

My daughter rents a room with two other (male) students. It has been problematic since day one. Yesterday, an argument lead to assault. She no-longer feels safe and she has moved-out. The landlord refuses to return any portion of her rent and will not refund her "last-months-rent". What rights does she have? Who can she contact in the Ottawa area. |
