Topic:
Travel to US in Personal Vehicle -Expired PR Card

I'll need to do an unplanned visit to the US for just one day tomorrow to meet a friend but I just found out that my PR card has expired.

I'll be travelling on my own car.

I have my landing paper, a valid ON drivers license etc, credit cards, health cards etc

Will I be able to use the above to re-enter Carnada?

I have read the info on the below pages, but it's still not clear to me if I'll be allowed back in. These links mostly talk about having an expired card while you are outside Canada - but my situation here is that I'm currently in Canada with an expired card, with the need to make a quick visit to the US.

Anyone? Thanks for your help in advance.

  • you can use one of the following immigration documents:
    • Record of Landing (IMM 1000), or
    • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292 or IMM 5688)
On a commercial carrier (plane, boat, train or bus):
