Hi everyone,
I am currently working in Canada on a temporary residence permit tied to a work visa. I applied for PR in May via the Express Entry program and have submitted my medical, English test and paid the fees. I have now been waiting over 4 months for a decision with the average wait time being 2 months. The other day, I received an email from my account saying I had a message. I had hoped it was the PR decision, but instead it was in the old temporary residence section of the account saying my temp residence permit had been approved and I had to send my passport to Ottawa within 30 days. My PR application is still pending. My temporary residence permit was approved 2 years ago and I am currently living and working in Canada. I think somebody has made a mistake, but of course it takes two weeks to get a reply via email (and the replies are normally copy and pasted stuff which isn't helpful) and I can't even get into the queue on the phone.

I am really confused and exasperated by the process and I don't know what to do I will soon have to re-apply for my work permit as I'm not sure if this PR mess will be resolved in time for when I need a renewal. I am considering writing to my member of parliament to ask them to intervene on my behalf.

Does anyone have any experience of this or idea why they are requesting my passport on my old work visa account saying it has been 'approved' almost two years after it was actually approved?
