Topic:
PR Card expiring before travel to Canada for Oath

Hoping someone can advise on my situation. I'm living out of Canada for the past two and a half years and applied for citizenship last year in the hopes of returning in the next year or so.

Got called for my test on the 26th June and will be travelling to Toronto for a few days to do this. Will still be covered by my PR card before it expires. I plan on applying for a renewal of my PR card from my residence once back in Canada. My PR card expires on July 2nd so if I get called to do the oath, about the end of July, I won't have PR card any longer and will have to enter via the US for the oath ceremony with my expired PR card as I won't be allowed to fly. Has anyone had any issues with this? Is it acceptable to attend the Oath with an expired PR card?

Another thing is my physical presence in Canada now is less than that required for citizenship but just over the 730 days required for PR renewal. Would my physical presence up until the time of the Interview/Test/Oath matter or would I have any issues? From what I'm reading the physical presence only counts for the 5 years immediately before the date of my citizenship application which is approximately a year ago now.

Anyone been in this situation?
