Topic: Employment insurance and severance pay

 Hi, I just got laid off. Employer will pay my severance as salary continuation. They deduct from salary continuation EI premiums, but de fact I am not working. How this type of severance pay impacts EI benefits, does it count as working hours, or at the end of severance I will not be eligible for EI benefits, because I won't have required hours of work in past 52 weeks? Thank you.
