I never thought this day would come, but... FINALLY GOT A LETTER IN THE MAIL WITH MY OATH-TAKING SCHEDULE! Please see timeline below

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on June 6, 2011.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on June 6, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

We sent you a notice on November 20, 2014 to appear and take the oath of citizenship at the citizenship ceremony to be held on December 11, 2014 at 8:30 AM. I am beyond excited for this! Three years of waiting in vain and the time has come. For everyone else, good luck and hang in there!

My time line has been stuck like this in about a year and seven months now. I was told before that the wait time for RQ was 30 months- now it is 48 months. I still don't understand how some people need to have to fill out a RQ form while some don't. I have known A LOT of people who took the citizenship test after I did and they already got their Canadian Citizenship. The people I speak to on the call centre aren't really helping- as they do not know what the status is as well.

Sorry for the rant!

What documents do I need to carry to the Oath ceremony. The letter says bring all documents in original that you submitted with your application.

Writing this as a Canadian Citizen.

Took my Oath on Dec. 12. Everything went smoothly as described in the video in this page http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/cit-ceremony.asp

Just went there with my Passport, PR Card, Driving Licence and Health Card. They only asked for my PR Card.

Went in at 1:00 PM and came out with the Citizenship Certificate at 2:40 PM and a very proud feeling.

Hi , I am residing in canada from october 2013 . in 2015 i was out of canada for 5 months . I want to know that if i stay in canada less than 6 months then what will be the consequences for my citizenship. I have heard that if i stay less than 6 months in canada then that year will not be consider for citizenship timeline . I know in 6 years i need to stay 4 years in canada. so in other 2 years one of it is less than 6 months than will that time will consider or not.
