Hi,
I am a Canadian citizen and I plan to send my 2 year old daughter in the Philippines with the care of my aunt as I am studying full time right now. Will she still be receiving her child tax benefit while outside Canada for 1 year?
Thanks

Hi gandaleraj,
Thanks for sharing your question and situation with us. We can appreciate that this is a confusing situation.
You can read more about the Child Tax Benefit (CCTB) in our article found here
According to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website:
To get the CCTB, you must meet all of the following conditions:
- You must live with the child, and the child must be under 18 years of age. - You must be the person primarily responsible for the care and upbringing of the child.
You may want to contact the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for more information about your specific situation and to confirm the information provided above.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
