Hi

In past two month, CIC has mailed PR cards for seven people at my address that i am not aware of. People named on those PR card envelopes have never lived at this residence. I bough this house from the only owner of the place who had it built himself.

I have returned 4 that i receive last month but holding on to the other 3 that i have received yesterday.

I need to know how my address is getting on someone else records? Isn't it break of my privacy?

Thank and Regards

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and questions with us.

We can appreciate why you would be concerned about this situation. That is a large number of PR cards you have received to your address in error. It is quite concerning.

According to the Canada Post website,

If the letter is addressed correctly, but the person it’s addressed to is not at your address

-Contact the senders and inform them of the error so they can update their mailing list.
-Cross out the address, write 'Moved' or 'Unknown' and deposit the item in a Street Letter Box. Do not include a forwarding address, as that would require additional postage.

You may want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly to share this concerning situation and to find out if there is any additional information regarding your address.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
