Hi there,

I have applied for citizenship last Aug and provided all the required documents including my passport translations.

I received an invitation for citizenship test 3 weeks ago and I had my exam yesterday.

After I passed the exam officer told they need to look at my application closer and I might the invitation for citizenship ceremony or I might need to see the judge.

They didn’t give me any clear answer, I even contacted CIC call center today to understand how likely this is happening to people but didn’t get any good answer.

They have mentioned this is not random and it is at discretion of officer.

I have studied in Canada and hold a Master degree and I've been working for government for 2 years now.

At this point I am so disappointed because I have provided all the required documents and I don’t understand how they cannot provide me with a clear answer.

I was wondering if I need to mail supporting documents (i.e. T4, transcripts, bank statement) to their office to help them validate my application faster and maybe avoiding any backlog.

Any advice is highly appreciated,
Thanks,

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

In terms of including the additional information and documents, according to a Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre Representative, generally, you should send/include what you are asked to include. Unfortunately though, there are no guarantees that sending additional documents or not will avoid any chances of seeing a judge.

Sometimes, in order to get another response or clarification, it is necessary to call the the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre to speak to several representatives to find out if they have any additional information on this process.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

I am in the same situation. I passed my test 20/20 and then i was interviewed, the officer was little confused and immediately told me that I will recieve a letter if they need anything. I have already submitted a RQ before the test. Can you please share your views on this
