Landlord Evicted Us - Did not Move Into Unit

My landlord gave me an eviction notice stating that he needed the unit for himself.
I have moved out, and now we find out that he is NOT living in the unit...it is sitting vacant while he tries to sell it.
Is there any recourse for us, as it caused us considerable stress and expense to relocate?
