Hi
I landed in BC as a PR holder(Skilled Worker) in January 2012 with my wife and son and I was the primary applicant, but due to some reasons, I only managed to stay here in Canada for couple of months.

My entries are:
January 3, 2012 to 7 March 2012 =2 months
1 August 2012 to February 12 2013 =6 months
September 23 2013 to till now =9 months

but my wife completed her 2 years as a PR requirement.

Now, I am planning to move to Australia permanently next month and I want to keep both PR status open.

However, I have not completed my 2 years here in Canada and according to Immigration laws, if I move now, my PR will be cancelled.

so My queries are:

1.Can my wife apply for my PR or Can she carry me in future after cancelling my PR?
2.Can I enter to Canada while my wife is still PR holder in Canada and I lost my PR status?

suggestions will be appreciated.

Kind Regards and Thanks.
Manpreet.

Hello Manpreet,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We have had others in similar situations ask similar questions.

You can find some information in our previous Settlement.Org How can I maintain my PR while outside Canada? discussion thread.

Your wife may want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for some additional information regarding what your options and possibilities are.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
