PR Renewal for Minors and Applying for Citizenship

Hello;
Me and my son (minor) had our PR in January 2010.
In the meantime, my son left Canada to live with his mother. In April 2014, I have applied for citizenship as a qualified candidate.
I did a citizenship application for my son together with mine since a minimum physical presence in Canada is not required for minors.
However, our PR status will most probably expiry before we get an answer about citizenship.
So I need apply to renew my and my son's PR nowadays.
My son, who still is a minor, is coming back to Toronto to live with me and to attend UoT.
His physical presence in Canada is currently less than 2 years.
Will this be a problem for my son while applying to renew his PR for another 5 years. Thanks in advance.

Hello Temeles,
Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.
The onus is on each individual permanent resident to meet their own residency requirements.
We suggest that you may want to contact a Lawyer who is familiar with Canadian Immigration issues for some assistance.
You may also want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for some additional information on what the options are and how to proceed.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
