Dear Seniors/ Friends,

I've a query about Drafts that I need to carry as proof of funds. I've a draft which will be 46 days old when I land in Canada on 14th Aug.

Is it ok to carry 46 days old draft? Draft is still valid as drafts are valid for 3 months.

Actually, I'd earlier planned to travel on 5th July so I had made this draft but I could not travel. Thinking that I'll lose money if I get the draft reissued I kept it as it is becuase the validity of draft is 3 months. But now I'm feeling very worried as it will be 45 days old when I'll land. Can it cause any issues or objections at landing?

Seniors please help guide.

Thanks.

Hello Can,

Thank you for sharing your question with us.

We hope that others can share their suggestions and experiences with you.

According to several CIC representatives, it is likely you will simply have to wait to see what happens at the port of entry. They stated that they have no way of knowing how the officer at the port of entry will react.

We noticed that you landing is today, please let us know how it went for you.

We wish you a safe and smooth landing.
