Hello,
Thank you for sharing your situation and concern with us.
You can find the nearest settlement agency by using our Settlement.Org Service Near Me tool.
You may also want to dial 211 on your phone to speak to an Information and Referral Specialist. They may be able to provide some information related to the settlement agency that is closest to your home.
Unfortunately, we cannot recommend a lawyer to you, however, you can find some information on how to find on in our Settlement.Org How do I find a lawyer? article.
Before contacting a lawyer, you may also want to try and contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly to see if they can help you by providing some clarification regarding the response received.
I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
