Wife signed the papers and decide to settle down too soon once they get the divorce papers. Its in court now since Sept. 5, 2014. Do you know how long will it take to get the courts decision? they said its only one month once you send it in court with no problems with the papers and no appeal from the wife. members do you have an idea? or any experience? please help. thank you and God Bless us all.

Hello,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

As you may have noticed, the Settlement.Org website is mainly about settling and living in the province of Ontario.

Therefore, you will not be able to find a great deal of information regarding the province of Alberta.

Your boyfriend may be able to find some additional information on the following sites:

Government of Alberta - Divorce

LawCentral Alberta

We hope that others who have had a similar situation can share their experiences and timelines with you.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hello Miss Ana,
Yes there is a new update. Last Monday he went to the Court for a follow up and he got a bad news. The court found out that the wife filed a divorce petition in yellowknife last feb. 10, 2011. didnt widthraw the petition and it will expire in feb 10, 2016. but the wife told my BF she already widthraw the case but maybe her lawyer didnot dismiss the petition because she didnot pay her lawyer for his service. so it is still in yellowknife court. can they continue the present divorce? what she need to do. go to yellowknife court to dismiss the previous petition by herself or she need a lawyer again? if she do that can they continue the present papers or back to zero again and how long to widthdraw the case? please help.. Yes I know this discussion is for Ontario but i know you can still give me an idea. thank you so much ..

God is so good.
