I am PR status in Canada.

I just got married 3 months before. I am preparing the documents for sponsoring my spouse from back home.

Just got my option C printout of 2013.

I am confused about the Question-3 Your net personal income for the 12 months preceding the date of your application.

I do not know what exact figure I am supposed to put in this line as i was full time student from September 2013- December 2014. I receive OSAP to complete my study.

I didn't work for almost 15 months.

Now from January 2015 i started job and have 2 pay stubs. so am i supposed to put 2 pay stubs amount? or..?

Is OSAP income?

any suggestion.....

Hello Sayuz,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

According to several CIC representatives, you should include your OSAP amount however, you will need to also include a note stating and explaining that it is OSAP.

According to them, this is necessary because OSAP is not really considered income since it is a loan.

You may also want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly for information specific to your situation.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.

Hi Anna
Thanks for the reply. I have another concern about the supporting documents to be submitted by sponsor which is on Document Checklist- Sponsor (IMM -5491) no 19 which says –If you must meet the minimum necessary income requirement and you and ,if applicable , your co-signer.;
• Are not producing an original option-C printout of your last notice of Assessment for most recent year ( which I already have) or
• Are producing option –C printout of your last notice of assessment for the most recent year, but the total income reported on your and your co- signer’s printout is less than minimum necessary income, provide a photocopy of the following documents……---- evidence of employment income( pay stubs) over the past 12 months preceding the date of your application…..if you and cosigner is employed ( as I mention on my previous question that I started my job only after 2015…..so?...what I am supposed to mention here?
• Do I need to attached my bank statement for sponsoring spouse?
Is there any income requirement for sponsoring spouse?
