Hi there, So I called to CIC yesterday to ask about my PR card status which I renew on october 14 2014,

and the stuff asked me about my address, but stupid me, I didnt remember my new address, so they asked me if I can give them any address in Guelph,

so I said I can but only the old address, so I told them, but then I realized what if they send me my renew PR card to the old address which I told yesterday (I put my new address when I renew for the new one anyway),

therefore, today I decided to call them today to asked about what the address that they going to send to when my new PR card is done,

but this time, the staff just asked me when I renew it and they said it's not yet being process and told me to call a month later, so I hung up.

and my question is " Is there any chance they will send my new PR card to my old address?" because I already moved out.

P.s sorry for long post, because I want to explain clearly about my situation.

I would be really appreciate if someone can help me with this.

Hello Eang,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

We can appreciate that you would be concerned about this situation.

Most who are replacing or renewing their PR card will receive it by mail.

However, some permanent residents who are renewing or replacing their PR card will need to pick it up at a local CIC office.

If you will need to pick up your card, you will be contacted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to schedule an appointment.

Therefore, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) will use the information/Canadian address that they have available on file in order to send any communication or information to you.

This includes your PR card.

CIC will use the information they have on file for you. If they do not have your new address, they will use the address they have.

You can find some additional information on how notify Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) of an address change on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
