I am yet to travel to Canada... I have a visa with working permit and I want to know if I arrive in Canada what re the things I can do there.. I have work experience and so many fields but I think certificates and diplomas differ from country to country and my certificate might not interest a Canadian based company I guess.. What do you think I can do? I have another question.. My working permit is one year.. How do I get permanent resident permit within that time frame.. Please help

Hello DM,

Thank you for sharing your situation and question with us.

It is true that it is not easy to find work in Canada that corresponds with your skills and experience.

We have provided some helpful information in our Settlement.Org How hard is it to find work in Ontario? article.

Once you arrive you may want to get some help with your job search.

You can find some helpful information in our Settlement.Org Why should I get help to find work? article.

Regarding your question about applying for permanent residence, once you arrive in Canada, you may want to contact the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) Call Centre directly to find out what your options are.

You may also want to look at some information in our Settlement.Org immigration related articles.

I hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you have further questions and if there is any follow up to your question/situation.
