Hello,
I sponsored my parents and they are PR since January 2013. My dad had to leave Canada recently to take care of his mom. He is expected to be outside of Canada for approximately 8 months. Will this absence prolong the period of 10 years sponsorship undertaking? Thank you

No - his absence will not prolong the 10 year sponsorship undertaking.
